After doing the Philadelphia Flower Show, we had lots of requests to purchase our jewelry online.  Since I rarely spend much time in front of my computer, I will make this as easy as I can for you, (and me), to stay up to date with new items fresh off my bench. Electrosonic art is a more conceptually based music, eschewing the confines of melody in order to deliver made-to-order tonality. Saturday's event will include fire spinning by Kat and Cholas.

Student's gather around Gordon K Uyehara to learn new techniques in bronze and copper metal art clay for jewelry and small sculptures.  We had fun and lots of creativity going on, learning new techniques in joining metal clays, firing copper and bronze metals in the kilns, listening to music and eating cookies :)

Karen Keit will be featuring her New line of designer Tahitian black pearl and silver jewelry at Old Kapaa Town's Art Walk on Nov 5th 2011, 6-9pm.  Also featuring new and old black and white photographs by Lilian Demello.  Live music by Joe LaMore and The Nu Old School and firedancing by the Fire Kitties and Wildman Nick Moore.

Alley Kat Art will be hosting a weekend Bronze & Copper Metal Art Clay workshop by renowned and award winning artist Gordon Uyehara, November 12 & 13, in Kapaa.  Published and featured on the cover of Art Jewelry Magazine, Uyehara will be teaching techniques in forming metal clays into fine jewelry.

Copper, and Bronze Metal Art Clays are a unique material utilizing pure metal particles in an organic binder easily manipulated into designs.  After drying, the metal clay pieces are fired to temperatures that burn out the organic binder and fuse the metal particles into solid metal sculptures and jewelry.

Not only are bronze and copper clays less expensive alternatives to silver clay, their rich tones provide attractive design opportunities. This exploratory hands-on workshop will focus squarely on the fundamental concepts of using these base metal clays. We'll cover texturing, shaping, joining, refining, firing approaches and challenges, finishing, and combining clays through a variety of projects. A fun weekend of creating and learning!

Prerequisite: silver clay introductory class (preferred but not necessary)

 Class is limited in size and costs $275, which includes metal clay, materials and tool use. Yes, the gallery got robbed sometime during the night of June 1-2, 2011.  Thieves broke through the deadbolt by peeling away the cool spotted leopard print trim that Sport painted and dug the deadbolt out of the wood.  The thieves made away with mine and other artist's valuable jewelry.  It is a sickening feeling that anyone would do that!  And I guess it's a common occurrence to be targeted by the scumbag thieves that frequent the alley in Old Kapaa Town.  Anyway, good that I have a handy husband who is amazing with tools and we've been doing our best at beefing up the security from theft ever happening again.  Police found a guy that had some of my stolen goods in his backpack, but maybe less than 10%.  So far the dude's not talking much.  And things don't look promising according to the police.
